Happy Tenth Anniversary to Hasbara Fellowships
Dear Friends & Hasbara Alums,
I had the privilege of participating in Hasbara Fellowships in the Winter of 2004, and then again, as a Student Madrich, the following year. Their intensive pro-Israel activism training gave me the opportunity to meet some of the most dynamic and passionate pro-Israel student leaders in North America.
The knowledge, training, and confidence I gained from the program gave me the tools to stand up for Israel at the Ohio State University and become a leader in my campus\'s pro-Israel movement. Before the trip, I lacked the words to adaquately make the case for Israel, but after the whirlwind training and hearing from a wide range of experts in Israel\'s security, history, and politics I came out of the program a different person - with stronger convictions to make an impact and with greater love for Israel. Moreover, Hasbara taught me that often times, being a leader is uncomfortable, but as members of the Jewish people it\'s incumbant upon each and every one of us to protect and safeguard Israel\'s future. This sense of unity has remained with me so many years later.
For ten years now, Hasbara alumni have led the fight for Israel\'s reputation in many of the most vehementally anti-Israel campuses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Simply put, Hasbara has a proven track record of inspiring leadership and providing students with the skills and critical motivation necessary to convince others of the justice of Israel\'s cause.
I am grateful and proud to be an alumnus of Hasbara Fellowships and hope that you will join me in supporting the organization in their mission to develop the next generation of ambassadors for Israel.
Thank you,
Allan Weinberger
