Happy Tenth Anniversary to Hasbara Fellowships!
Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow Hasbara Alumni,
Participating in the Hasbara Fellowships training program in Israel last summer had a profound effect on me. Prior to the Hasbara program, I was involved in pro-Israel advocacy on my campus but often wasn\'t sure how to best respond to anti-Israel claims from fellow students, professors, and at events. I knew in my heart that what was being said about Israel was wrong, but needed better communication skills and the motivation to really stand up and make the case for Israel.
The Hasbara training provided me with the in-depth knowledge of Israel\'s history and the Arab-Israeli conflict and a wealth of communication skills that prepared me to become a leader in the pro-Israel movement on my campus. Hasbara staff are always there to offer strategic guidance for on-campus programming, materials, and other resources like grants to bring speakers to campus. The countless experts on national security, politics, the peace process, and journalists we spoke with combined with the visits to important areas in Israel like Sderot and the Northern borders, reinforced the facts, because I saw them first-hand, on the ground. Now I can speak directly from that experience.
I am proud to be a Co-Chair in Hasbara\'s Tenth Anniversary Campaign, and I encourage you to join me in making a contribution, in any amount you are able, to support the next generation of Israel\'s ambassadors.
Thank you,
Sarah Sue Landau
