Hi everyone,

As you might already know, we are currently in Mumbai and have become involved with an organisation called the Gabriel Project here.

The Gabriel Project is a Jewish initiative that works in the slums of Mumbai providing food and literacy to over 500 children a dayy!

We will be working with local womens groups in preparing and delivering nutritious meals to the classrooms in the slums. We wil also be teaching English to children living in the slums.

The program is great becuase it helps both the women and the children!

The woman are employed by the charity to cook the meals for the schools - this means an important income for food and the family. The kids are not only taught English, but also taught to enjoy education. Having the volunteers makes education engaging and fun. Not to mention we provide them with an important exposure to foreign culture and English!

In short we are donating to this program because it is taking steps to help break the cycle of poverty present in the slums.

Just $100 will feed 250 children a day.But any amount you can give will make a big difference.

We are aiming to raise $5000 by January 1st 2013 to make a significant impact on these children\'s lives.

To get the ball rolling we have put $100 towards the cause.
