Ari Singer's Hoops for Kids Bar Mitzvah Project!

This past December, my family and I took a trip to Israel. I had the privilege to volunteer at the non-profit program, Hoops for Kids which is located in the Tel Aviv suburb of  Netanya. I was able to help run basketball drills and scrimmages to underprivileged Israeli children while helping them learn English. (see slide show on the right). The kids love playing basketball! These children learn many values such as teamwork, commitment and other social skills through this program.  This organization partners with the Netanya professional basketball team that Michigan State's own Raymar Morgan played for last season. It was great to meet him!

For my Bar Mitzvah project I am hosting a 3-3 basektball tournament on August 25th at the JCC in West Bloomfield. The proceeds for the tournament will benefit Hoops for Kids.
