' Welcome to my Chesed Project! I have chosen to spend my year raising money for the Lone Soldier Program, sponsored by FIDF/Nefesh B\'Nefesh. Starting last summer, I sold snow cones after school and on Sundays. I\'ve offered my services as a mother\'s helper, and at my Bar Mitzvah party, I will encourage my friends to write cards to Lone Soldiers. After my Bar Mitzvah, I will continue to sell snow cones, and will have a few bake sales to raise money. About 5,000 IDF soldiers, classified as “Lone Soldiers”, serve their country every year despite dealing with numerous emotional and financial struggles.   While the Israeli government provides food, shelter, and equipment for the IDF Lone Soldiers, the FIDF/Nefesh B’Nefesh Lone Soldiers Program cares for their welfare, improves their quality of life, and helps guarantee their future in Israel by offering comprehensive support in various languages - including English, French, Russian and Spanish.
