Shlomzion was founded 15 years ago by Yoni and Sara Melman, in order to make a direct difference in the lives of many underprivileged members of their community.

Our journey has come a long way since our humble beginnings when we are helping out a few families struggling to make basic payments. We have expanded to organizing food drives to insure that families have what to eat. We have been at the forefront of helping families in times of tragedy and extreme distress after fatal terror attacks and car crashes. We have been there every step of the way to help these unfortunate families pull through their darkest hours.

Throughout the years, Shlomzion has also helped numerous children who suffer from learning disabilities and could not without our help afford tutoring and other necessary services, with great pride we are watching them grow into fully functioning and contributing adults.

Shlomzion is now taking on our newest and biggest challenge to provide supplemental healthcare to those who otherwise could never afford it.

With our latest findings on the rising poverty situation in Israel we believe that sadly many people cannot afford this insurance. Unfortunately another aspect that is perhaps equally as bad is that many Israelis believe that they already have this insurance provided to them by their health care plans.

Shlomzion would like to invite you to join us, as we continue on this important mission to provide for those who struggle to support themselves. Our sages teach us in the Jerusalem Talmud, Pe’ah that “Charity and acts of kindness are equal to all the commandments in the Torah”. What is the reason for this? When a person gives a portion of what he/she has earned, they are not just giving up some money, but rather all of the energy that went into making that money. In essence, there is nothing greater or kinder than that and it equal to all the other commandments.

Let us continue together to give to others will all our energy and strength. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
