As a member of the fall 2017 cohort of the Gabriel Project Mumbai (GPM) I am honored and excited to be working in support of such an important cause, fighting for the well being of vulnerable children living in the slums and poor rural areas of India through education, health and nutrition initiatives.

GPM has launched major successes such as the first medical clinics in the Kalwa slum, a new school serving 20 villages, and women's empowerment projects.  Among GPM's main innitiatives is the Eat2Learn nutrition program.  For many children in the slums, education takes a back seat to the pressing need and responsibility to help support one's family.  The Eat2Learn nutrition program provides hot and healthy meals to all the children who enroll in the local school, serving as a major incentive that has resulted in a 50% increase in school attendance.
