Give the Schwartz's a New Lease on Life! Sometimes in life, a person, due to unfortunate circumstances, finds himself falling in a downward spiral. The beginning is slow. One small problem, then another. But then, small problems become big ones and the person plummets into a deep, dark pit seemingly with no way out. The Schwartz Family, a large Israeli family living in the Judean Hills, is desperately trying to put their life back together after falling to the brink of bankruptcy and despair. Read their story below and click to help! Let me paint you a picture of the Schwartz family, an average Israeli family living in a city in the Judean Hills. When the Schwartz's married, Rivka knew that Yaakov had a Jewish Genetic disorder, but she also knew that it was easily controlled if Yaakov would receive a weekly regiment of enzymes. What she did not know was that Yaakov also suffers from a mild case of ADHD. At first, Yaakov worked, although he frequently changed jobs. But between his income and her income from her job as a teacher, the couple managed. As they started a family, however, things became more complicated. Although Yaakov's condition was under control, he at times felt unwell. Additionally, it became apparent that his ADHD was affecting his ability to hold down a job, but he is unable to take medication for ADHD due to his high blood pressure. One small problem, and then another. Until the families situation quickly began a down ward spiral until they reached a point of financial desperation. The Schwartz's today live with their eight children in a small two bedroom apartment. The furniture is old and in disrepair. The kitchen is barely functional. Some of the children sleep in the living room due to lack of space. Recently, they began to receive help and are working very hard to put their life back together. Yaakov has found a job that suits him, ADHD and all. Rivka is currently taking courses so that she can find a better, higher paying job. They have been receiving financial counseling from an organization that helps with such cases, and have been fastidiously sticking to the financial plan outlined for them. However, due to the debt accrued during those black years, they are having a difficult times pulling themselves out of the financial and emotional hole that they had fallen into. It is an uphill battle, but they are determined to get to the top, to reach the light- but they need help. Your donation will go directly to a fund to help the Schwartz' pay back their debt, to put them back on their feet, and give them a fresh start. The money will be monitored, through the organization that is working with them, to make sure that it is allocated appropriately to cover debts and help achieve their goal to financially rehabilitate themselves, and thus be able to provide their eight children with a better life.
