Founded in August 2007, Shutaf is a year-round, informal-education program for children and teens with special needs based in Jerusalem. Dedicated to inclusion, Shutaf welcomes children of all socioeconomic, religious, and educational backgrounds, and works to cultivate an atmosphere of complete acceptance.

Serving close to 200 participants, staff, and volunteers of all ages, Shutaf offers programs that teach social, life, and leadership skills in a fun and captivating way. Through year-round extracurricular activities such as arts and crafts, woodworking, cooking, safety, self-awareness, and self-fulfillment workshops, participants gain not only experience in diverse fields, but also a greater sense of their own potential and what it means to work in a group setting.

Our camps (held in the spring and summer) offer social opportunities within a supportive, calm and enjoyable atmosphere. Campers range from 6 to 21 years of age, and they participate in a wide variety of activities such as music and movement, drama, arts and crafts, sports and games, special trips and group fun. Additionally, older campers and graduates of the program have the opportunity to be trained as counselors, thereby putting the real-life skills they've acquired into play.

At Shutaf, we educate and show by example that everyone can live, work and play together regardless of their differences.
